The Mzuri Pro-Til sub surface strip tillage drill cultivates a uniformed till and places the seed at a controlled depth providing the ideal soil environment for each seed to germinate quickly and grow to achieve its full potential.
Strip tillage involves only cultivating a targeted area and leaving the crop residue on the surface between the tilled strips, retaining moisture and organic matter to improve the soil structure and fertility.
The strip-till tines and wheels are alternatively staggered to give ample space for trash to flow through. The coulter units are each connected to a balanced pressurised hydraulic system, which ensures an even soil pressure to each of the rear wheels. The controlled pressure ensures an accurate seed depth and excellent soil-to-seed contact.
The Pro-Til is specifically designed as a single pass ‘stubble to seed bed’ drill, however it is equally at home with inversion systems. Being so versatile, whether drilling direct into stubble, min tilled land or even after the plough, makes the Pro-Til the ideal machine to simplify the transition towards permanent direct drilling.
The metering unit simply consists of a variable speed electric motor and gearbox driving a specific seed roller. A selection of seed rollers is provided to suit all seed types. Calibration is straightforward and accurate, simply push an electric button, then weigh collected seed and enter the amount into the control panel.
The RDS Artemis provides on-the-move seed rate adjustment, plus all of the normal essential seed drill control and monitoring functions.
Specification
The low disturbance leading tine loosens the sub-surface zone by lifting the ground to ensure good drainage and deep root development. The auto-reset tine action also cleans the sowing strip of surface trash to produce a clean till of moist friable soil.
The depth of the front tine is easily controlled by varying the amount of ram stops. This provides a simple and quick set-up to accommodate a balance between soil condition and desired forward speed.
The tandem axle wheel assembles reconsolidate the tilled strips. Each wheel follows directly behind the leading tines. The floating wheels follow the ground contours carrying all the weight of the machine evenly across all the tills, ensuring a constant depth of leading tines and seed coulters.
The parallelogram linkage ensures a constant angle and depth of the uniquely designed banded seed coulter.
Each seed coulter is kept at the desired depth by a balanced pressurised hydraulic system.
Individual depth adjustment to each of the semi-pneumatic wheels accurately controls seed placement. Excellent soil-to-seed contact is achieved by the hydraulically controlled weight exerted to the seed wheels.
The use of a rear adjustable harrow ensures even distribution of soil and straw across the seedbed if so required.
